Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and a happy St. Patrick's Day! I am sitting at home hoping we do not have a blizzard tomorrow... when will it ever be spring?

It was really exciting getting to see some families on Thursday and Friday for conferences. It was even more exciting to show those families all of the growth that has already been made this far in kindergarten! I had a smile on my face all night and all day. I cannot wait to see the rest of you this week. Hopefully, I will get to see some of you again at Fun Night, this Friday at Sibley.

The post this week features some pictures from a St. Patrick's Day craft and writing activity that we did, and it also features some excellent readers from room 206. For our St. Patrick's Day writing, we had to create a story about a leprechaun, and it was a ton of fun hearing all of the creative story ideas from the kids. They are hanging up in the hallway, so you will have to take a look when you come. Last week, we also started something new during our snack time. If the kids are able to pick out a just right book from their book baskets and can read it by themselves, they can sign up to read during snack time. It has been so much fun to see how proud these kids are of their reading. Not only are they getting to celebrate their success and love for reading, but they also are acting as excellent models of great readers to their friends, no matter their guided reading levels.
